SUNDAY POST: To New beginnings

Harper's Bazaar. I scheduled my Sunday post just to find out (while at work today) that it hadn't been published = FAIL! So sorry guys so you have to read my Sunday post on a Monday!  I'm rather annoyed at this but I am much more happy about what I am going to tell you now:
New York has been postponed... for the time being!
I know *bohooo* but I am not sad at all, as a matter of fact I am thrilled and more than delighted to postpone my New York venture because....... *drum roll*

I AM GOING TO BERLIN AND WILL BE WORKING FOR THE BEST MAGAZINE EVER:  Harper's Bazaar Germany!
It all happened so quick - I am still trying to comprehend that I will be spending the next 4 months (for now) in Berlin, with my family and the best friends, working in the online editorial office department of my all time favorite Magazine. I mean, I can not put it any other way than saying, a dream has truly come true!

''As soon as you stop wanting something you get it.'' - Andy Warhol

Doesn't this quote just hit the nail on the head? Okay, I didn't really stop wanting this Internship but for quite some time I had, unintentionally 'forgotten' about my dream. Let's put it that way. I have always seen my future at Harper's Bazaar (I'm not even joking) but you know how things work. Life happens, you experience things, take on different jobs and let yourself be influenced by all kind of things, and people.
For me, I've always loved writing. But somewhere along the way, of studying while juggling work, multiple other obligations and the blog I kind of ended up wanting to do something else (not so completely different), that would not involve as much writing as I actually loved to!  So during my final year at Uni I started to develop this desire of going to New York for a month or two before moving back home and to work at a PR Agency. Well, you know how that worked out hehe

When Harper's Bazaar extended an invitation to come work in the Berlin office, I could have never said no! What an amazing opportunity this is guys. I can't wait to get to Berlin and for my first day as an official team member of Harper's Bazaar alongside one of my favorite babes Veronika Heilbrunner!

So if you have a dream, do your best to work towards it and never give up. But once you have done all you could, do have some patience and you will get what you want!

Happy Sunday ermm... Monday

Sunday post: Never give up on something you really want!

Sunday thoughts. Whether it's a job, a new apartment, a trip you been planing to do for a while or the encounter with a human being so dear to you, whatever it is the #quoteoftheday you can find on my Instagram today (@minnieknows) kind of puts everything into perspective. At least for me. I have been reading Masha's Sonntags Posts for a while now and have been feeling so inspired. The Sunday posts are always the best I must say. I know, all of us love fashion, and reading about designers and new pieces someone has in their wardrobe so we all can unite in buying the one particular piece of clothing. I'm not judging anyone - else I would be judging myself. But for me personally and what I want Minnie Knows to be revolving about, I say enough with the superficiality! It's time to introduce the weekly Sunday post or should I say thought?

Since I've been super stressed about my upcoming trip to New York where I'm planning to stay for two months, I started reading and rea-reading my babe's Alice impressions of her 6 months stay in the City when she interned at Alexander Wang. What?! Amazing right? Long story short. I still haven't found a room to rent and although I'm impressed with Alice for organising her accommodation once she got there, I'm too much of a control freak and scaredy cat to hope for the best once I'm there! Thanks to Alice who also was so kind to email me some advice on where to stay and what's a good and safe neighbourhood, I'm also living on craigslist these days. Literally.

So when I read todays quote I instantly associated the message with my current situation! I know I know, it's only an internship and it's only for 2 months. But still, it's a country I've never been to, a place so far away from home and all my loved ones and just so so big! Although I'm from London I still feel like New York will be on another level! Nonetheless, I'm so very excited to finally be there and hope I can sort our everything prior to my departure in a few weeks!

Whatever happens in the next few weeks, I won't give up on this dream of being in New York, living and working because I really really want this! Although it's difficult to wait, to plan and make sure everything goes right (even though you can't control everything right), it sure is more difficult to regret!

So whatever you want, whatever you really really want, don't give up! Travel, experience, take risks, adventure, have fun and above all LIVE!

Happy Sunday

Interior Inspo

Interior Love. Those of you who follow me on Instagram HERE will know that I'm soon moving back to Berlin, the city of my heart, my first love and home! I'm so excited for all that is ahead of me, starting with my new apartment and how to decorate it. So expect an interior post on this space now and then, from now on! I simply delight in looking at interior photos especially on Pinterest just to get some inspiration on what I want to do with my room, kitchen or home work space!
I'm still looking for the perfect apartment which proves to be more of a challenge than I thought but once I found my dream place, I can't wait to start decorating!

P.S If any of you are from Berlin and know of anyone looking to rent his/her 2 bed Apartment (preferably in Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg or Friedrichshain) then let me know!

Have a lovely day!

Wedding Attire

Wedding. As you have already seen in my previous Berlin article (HERE), this is what I wore to my friend's wedding that i was honored to be part of! I know I know black isn't really the color to wear to a wedding but I thought one can never go wrong with a little black dress. I was so happy when I found this little stunner by Monsoon! The detailing is so gorgeous and the length was just perfect too. I paired it with black mid heels and voila, I was good to go.

The whole wedding day festivities which were so very beautiful, made me think about what a huge decision it actually is to say 'I DO' and dedicate one's life to this one person. Many of my friends have been getting married lately and I couldn't be more happy for them! I'm so impressed by everyone who takes that step and decides to spend the rest of his/her life with the ONE person that makes them truly happy. Isn't that what everyone wants in life?
I am so incredibly happy for my friends who are now husband and wife.

CONGRATS AGAIN!

TRAVEL: Berlin

Monsoon Dress // Chanel Bag // New Look Heels // Bvlgari Bracelet // Vintage Earrings

Berlin. As promised, here are the photos I managed to snap in Berlin while busy catching up with family and friends and spending quality time with my loved ones! After my amazing trip to and throughout the South of France, I spent a week in Berlin where I primarily visited to attend the wedding of a very good friend of mine, hence the fancy first photo up there! I had a splendid time, as usual.
Those of you who have been to Berlin know how special this city is. I have been missing home, family and my friends a lot lately and although I'm currently planning my 2 months stay in New York (starting next month), I am so excited to start putting my permanent move back to Berlin into action!
I simply can't wait to be reunited with my lovelies and explore my favorite city in a way I would have never had 4 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love my life in London and will always be coming back, especially for work but, Berlin has a very special place in my heart! That feeling of complete happiness is what I look forward to the most.

Do you have a favorite city? Where do you love living most?

I have recently been obsessed with the blog of Jana - it's so refreshing and different to all blogs out there! I especially love the Monday Update and am inspired to start my personal Weekly update on Minnie Knows- NOW!

TRAVEL: From Nice with Love

Holidays. Two weeks of sun, delicious food, good wine and the best association have unfortunately come to an end. To be precise, I've been back since Thursday last week but upon my arrival I instantly fell into the so called post holiday blues! Nice - was the dream destination this year. Well, it more or less has become tradition to spend a week up in Bagnols, the south of France with my best friend and family.
I started my holiday in Nice, where I arrived and was picked up but my lovelies! After an amazing weekend in the village and trips to Marseilles for a special event, we finally got to chill and hang out by the beach in Saint Raphael which is approximately 40 mins on the bus from where my friend lives. We met up with other friends and mostly walked around town, taking photos of pretty houses and doors! The Côte D'Azur must be my favorite place on earth! The scenery is just beyond stunning and the weather always perfect!

During the week we then had time for a venture to Cannes, a place I have always dreamed of visiting. It was beautiful to walk around and just admire the beautiful buildings and shops! We did some shopping (obviously) and had lunch before we headed back home on the train. It only took about 30 min to travel from Nice to Cannes! How amazing huh?! My amazing holiday continued with more beach-ing, eating, chilling and drinking! After an amazing day in the old town of Nice (where we did some more shopping and took more photos hehe) we finally took a car to Italy, Bordighera and enjoyed a day at the famous Market along the beach. We did all this in just a week. What an amazing trip - I can't wait to get back next year!

On my last day, which actually was the same day I went to Italy, I was driven to the airport and caught my flight to Berlin! So I literally had breakfast in France, lunch in Italy and dinner in Germany! Crazy right!? Well when one has the opportunity, one must take it!

I hope you enjoy my little diary! Berlin photos will follow in the next post. Have you been to any of these places?

Happy Monday!
